Counselor: Counseling means "to
counsel".
You spent a total of 7 minutes with my son, Steve G. Williams, Jr. during his arraignment, even though he had been incarcerated for 4 weeks at that point. He has written you numerous letters and has made numerous inquiries for you to hear about this case, which was hashed out 1 1/2 years ago in front of Judge Waters in his courtroom. The judge, after hearing pre-trial testimony, admitted to inconsistencies in the witnesses' testimonies. He released my son and sent him home under the assumption that disposition had been done in this case. Apparently, you know nothing about this because you do not have all the information. In the spirit of the 1963 landmark case, Gideon vs Wainwright; Justice Black stated that every person accused of a criminal action shall be represented by competent counsel. Therefore sir, if you don't deem yourself competent through an inability to properly represent my son, I insist, with the explicit permission of my son, who has tried repeatedly to contact you and whom you have thus far ignored, to represent this case in the spirit of justice, or I beg you, cease and desist all action on this case and refer it to more competent authority. Let me explain how the world works Since the blistering ruling against the Bush administration by Judge Anna Diggs Taylor, some folks have been celebrating. Then Bush accused us of not understanding how the world works. Well, my friends, I'm here to explain it to you. Think of it as a public service. In the words of the Late Christopher Reeve:
Other ailments treatable with umbilical cord stem cells include; Cancer, Autism, Acute and Chronic Stroke, HIV, Aids, Hepatitis C. Lupus, Tinnitus, and age related conditions.
In 2003, I was diagnosed with Chronic Paranoid Schizophrenia, and in 2005 with related Multiple Sclerosis. I am single. A university and TAFE trained artist. I have never been married and as much as I love them, never had children. I suffered with untreated Schizophrenia for a few years, before it was finally diagnosed . During this time I thought the voice in my head was coming from a psychic, who was at first very angry with me. Sometimes humorous, and always extremely complex. From the voice I learnt a linguistic code, where words or sentences that sound similar, like when you mumble or chant words until they change. Context is all important. Some words or sentences are said to eliminate their meaning. An example is the slogan for Cystic Fibrosis, being `Sixty five roses,' but one would not say , `Cystic Fibrosis,' if that was what was meant. I believed others were condemning me with the use of this code. My mother and sister suffered much as I tried to defend myself at what I thought was their punishments and condemnations. Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Mr. Common Sense.
Mr. Sense had been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, and that life isn't always fair. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not kids, are in charge). His health began to rapidly deteriorate when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate, teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch, and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student only worsened his condition. There are many other techniques, of which the following is just one example.
Pacific Power serves a number of low income and modest income people, and in this month's bill, there is a notice that it is asking the California Utilies commission for a 25.1% rate hike for residential customers and an 11.6% rate increase for commercial and industrial customers. In other words, low and moderate income persons are to be forced to subsidize businesses. The extra profits that businesses earn by being subsidized by low and moderate income persons will no doubt go into things like increased executive salaries and/or increased salaries for board of directors members (officers and major stockholders) and/or special highly profitable arrangements with large shareholders. I have noticed that this subsidy of businesses by low and moderate income persons is becoming increasingly common as a government mandated way to transfer income to the wealthy. There are also a number of other techniques as well. Jim By Rob, Section Of Public Concern: Open Forum
I
recently received a call from Sharon, a 62 year old grandmother living just off
of Chestnut Expressway.
She was responding to the offer I had made her husband the week before on their front porch. The reason Sharon called me is because they don't have any money left for hospital bills. The family car recently broke down and they had to spend everything they had to invest in a functional vehicle. Instead of paying some incoming hospital bills, they focused on transportation so they can get to the hospital, go to the grocery store, run errands, and be able to take the family to church. Sharon and her husband Victor are no slackers. They both worked in local nursing homes for more than 20 years. "I've never missed a payment for nothing," she said. "This kind of gets us down because we simply do not have the money and are getting sued for it." Between the two of them they generate about $1,100 a month. Sounds like a 'livable' income until one factors in the fact that they are raising a grandson and a great grandson. Then of course there is the medicine, rent, utilities...
