On Wednesday May 16th, an Amendment was introduced in the Senate which would
have begun implementing a withdrawal from Iraq in 4 months and would also stop
providing funds for operations in Iraq after March 31st, 2008.
I am sorry to say that my own Democrat Senator Claire McCaskill, along with 2O other Dems, voted against cloture which effectively killed the amendment. But now we we have a clear record of where Claire McCaskill, and other Dems who were swept into office by America's anti-war majority, stand on the illegal occupation of Iraq by American military forces. How many are aware that Time Warner arranged for Big magazines to get postal cuts
while small ones don't?
One-half million dollars. That's what the latest round of rate-juggling by the United States Postal Service will cost The Nation in the next year. Rate increases go into effect July 15, 2007. We are fighting this increase as best we can, but even if we "win," which is a long shot, we are still facing hundreds of thousands of dollars in additional postage. Now it's time to accept the reality: (257 words in story) Full Story By admin, Section Of Public Concern: Open Forum
Open Letter to Kentucky State Representative Tom Burch,
Hello, My name is Kimberly A. Brown. I am writing this letter in regards to my untimely and bogus court case that I am unfortunately dealing with until this day since the last time I spoke with you in HARDIN COUNTY, KENTUCKY. My case number is 03-J-00702. As you are aware all of my children were taken from me in July of 1999; by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services in HARDIN COUNTY, KENTUCKY. Supposedly the grounds were that I was suicidal at the time with means to do so. Social Worker Vanessa Nickels came to my house to assist in getting a prescription for my son. Mrs. Nickels then left my residence to take care of what she claims were personal reasons. During her departure she went to the Hardin County Court and acquired a court order to remove all of my children. Upon Mrs. Nickels return, she was accompanied by the Radcliff Police. At this time the Police physically took all five of my children from my residence and placed them in the foster care (Curtis and Diana Willia ms). Emotionally distraught I was left at my home crying and wondering what was really taking place at the time. Prior to the Police departing my residence they informed me that I had to appear in Court within 72 hours, which I did appear before at the time Judge Coleman. I was informed that I had to abide by my case plan and I would receive my children back. I followed all of the stipulations that I was informed to do and still no children. Before criticizing your neighbor, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That sage advice stems from the Judeo-Christian wisdom of treating others as you wish to be treated. So, I am grappling with how it must feel for my dear friend Shakir Hamoodi and members of his family today when they were terrorized by secretive government agents. Shakir was in Michigan doing what he has done for several years, working on fund raising for Life for Relief and Development. It is a charitable organization set up to provide humanitarian relief for war victims and refugees. It is a Muslim charity and has raised over $50 million for Muslim victims of war so that widows and orphans among others, can have some relief. There are those in this country however that see all Muslim charities as fronts for terrorists. However, there is an important fact that you should know before allowing yourself to believe this charity is a front for terrorists. When the U.S. Army surrounded and then literally destroyed the city of Fallujah in Iraq, the Coalition Provisional government headed by Paul Bremer, contacted Life For Relief and Development and asked them to provide humanitarian assistance for survivors of Fallujah because the government trusted them. They have operated openly in the U.S. for years. (1397 words in story) Full Story By Rob, Section Of Public Concern: Open Forum

In the four months since the death of my son, Sgt. Matthew J. Fenton, from injuries suffered in Iraq, I have stated many times the horror of what I saw in the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Md. I believe that the time has arrived to tell the whole story of his death and the carnage that was inflicted on some of his fellow Marines. I do not find this easy to do, but as the death toll and injured number continues to climb, I cannot sit silently. On April 26, Matthew, 24, was the gunner on a Humvee protecting a Marine convoy on the outskirts of Fallujah. A suicide car bomber attempted to ram his Humvee, and he got off a few shots at the vehicle. From what I have been told it is common practice for these bombers to detonate their bomb if they come under fire. Matthew was the only Marine injured in the attack. Later that same day I received a phone call telling me that Matt was seriously wounded and that it was a head injury. The next day we were informed that Matt had been flown to Germany. Matt's mother, Diane, and I prepared to go to Germany. But in the middle of trying to get a flight, we received another call saying that he had stabilized and they were going to fly him to the United States. We were all lifted by this seemingly good news. Diane and I flew to Washington the next day and were met by a uniformed Marine and driven to Bethesda. What awaited us there is still shocking to me now. We met with two doctors who laid everything out for us. Matthew's injury was a devastating one. Shrapnel had entered his head just above his left eye and traveled diagonally through his brain and exited the right rear. (1572 words in story) Full Story
